Complete Termination of License

Understand Revocations

A revocation is the complete termination of a driver’s license for a specified period of time. A motorist’s whose license is revoked is not allowed any sort of restricted license, as they no longer have any license to restrict. They must reapply for a new license after the period of revocation ends.

Section 13100 provides “revocation means that the person’s privilege to drive a motor vehicle is terminated and a new driver’s license may be obtained after the period of revocation.” Unlike the suspension of a license, a revocation is a complete termination of the license
